Free Sermon + Congregational Forum on Addiction & Recovery

Addiction is already in your congregation.

It may be hidden.
It may be unnamed.
But it is there.

And too often, the Church waits until crisis forces a conversation.

We believe the Church should not be reacting late.
The Church should be leading.

This visit is designed to help you do exactly that.

What We Provide

We offer:

  • A sermon (or temple talk, if preferred) focused on addiction and recovery awareness during worship

  • A congregational forum following the service

The two go together.

The sermon names what many are already living.
The forum provides clarity, education, and space for honest conversation.

During the forum, we address:

  • How addiction actually works

  • Why stigma keeps people silent

  • Why faith plays a vital role in recovery

  • How congregations can become informed, prepared, and responsive

This is not a surface conversation. It is the beginning of cultural change inside a congregation.

Who We Are

Presentations are offered by ordained clergy from a variety of faith traditions.

We are:

  • Respectful of your theology and worship practices

  • Responsive to your guidance and boundaries

  • Focused entirely on addiction awareness and congregational readiness

We are not promoting a particular doctrinal agenda. We are addressing a crisis that is already affecting your people.

Why This Matters

Addiction thrives in silence.
Families hide.
Funerals happen.

When someone finally feels safe enough to speak, the Church must be ready.

If we do not create that safety, people will look elsewhere.

The question is not whether addiction is present in your congregation.
The question is whether it is safe to talk about it there.

Scheduling

We have Sunday openings (and can accommodate other days if needed) beginning after Easter through the end of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this political?
No. This is about saving lives and equipping communities.

Is this only about opioids?
Opioids are part of the crisis, but we address addiction more broadly — because alcohol and behavioral addictions are affecting nearly every congregation.

This is an invitation, not an obligation
We provide awareness, education, and next steps. Your congregation decides what comes next.
